Sophie (she/her) – I fell in love with rock climbing in 2017 after doing gymnastics for 13 years. I was lucky to find a job at a local climbing gym in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I grew up. I found that it was both a place where I could find a great diversity of interesting people and a place where I could physically and mentally challenge myself. Climbing immediately became a huge part of my life, surrounding me with opportunities for adventure and travel, and a community I could rely on to be welcoming everywhere I went. I am also a mural artist and a sculpture student at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. I love working with my hands and find great satisfaction in finding a style for my art and my climbing. Climbing has made my life better in a multitude of unexpected ways and I am eager to share my love for it with others.
