Sophie started routesetting in the beginning of 2020. She’s a working artist who lives and breathes climbing and chases her physical flow in all sorts of other sports such as high-lining, acrobatics and mountain biking.
“Working on the Tufas team means I get to work in an environment that encourages problem solving but also the understanding and application of athletic empathy—a fairness for every type of climber. The work involves extensive deliberation and lots of forerunning in order to create and communicate unique and technical movements that each climber will want to climb over and over again. Tufas knows that their visitors come to train and more importantly they come to have fun, so they offer climbs that are perfect for just that. Climbing is much more than a sport, it’s creativity, dance, precision, power, critical thinking, community, individuality and a place to grow.”
